Rupam Islam is the lead singer of the band Fossils, From Calcutta India. Born in a musical family, Rupam got his first lessons in music from his parents, Late Nurul and Late Chhandita Islam. His first stage performance was at the age of 4, with his parents' choir group "Jhonkar Shilpi Goshti". He started performing at Akashvani Kolkata from a very early age. Having been trained in Indian classical music, Rupam released his first solo album, in 1998 from HMV entitled "Tor Bhorshate".
